Do I need a license to drive a school bus?
Yes!  In order to obtain a School Bus Certificate License a candidate must go through a 2 day training, be cleared by the State of New Hampshire in terms of driving record and criminal background and pass a Department of Transportation physical exam.  There will also be a minimum of 4 hours of road training.

Do I need to take a drug test?

Yes!  As part of your Department of Transportation physical a drug test will be performed.

Do I need to have experience with Special needs students?

No!  The Provider will train all candidates to work with all special needs students.  Any previous experience is a plus.

Are there any physical requirements?
Yes!  Candidates must be in good health and be agile enough to perform the duties of a driver.  You must also be able to lift 50lbs.  All drivers must pass a required Department of Transportation physical.  The Provider will cover the cost of this procedure.

Is there any additional training?
Yes!  A total of 8 hours of in-service training is necessary to work at the Provider!  These trainings take place on specific Saturdays from approximately 9:00am to1:00pm.

Do I have to drive to Brentwood, New Hampshire each day to pick up a bus or van?

No!  Our drivers take the vehicles home and work from their homes.  Trips to Brentwood will however take place for maintenance purposes.

How long are the routes?
Routes vary with the school district and number of students.  However, we try to keep the traveling time from your home to your first pick up to a reasonable time. (30 minutes maximum)

Will I have to drive a big bus?

No!  Almost all of our buses are small 14 passenger or fewer and the vans we use are usually 9 passenger vans.

Do I need a CDL?

No!   However, a CDL license will be the basis for a higher hourly rate of pay aside from annual raises.  A CDL will allow drivers to drive buses with a capacity over 14 students or a vehicle over 26,000 lbs.

Are there any benefits?

Yes!  The Provider Enterprises will provide each driver with an optional supplemental health plan and dental insurance.  The company will pay ½ of the driver’s premium for the dental plan.  A percentage of emplyee contributions toward the 401K plan will be matched.  The 401K and profit sharing will be available after one year of employment and 1000 hours of service.

Are there any bonuses?

Yes!  Incentives are paid for the referral of new drivers or monitors.
